Circulation times and Policies

Students at Rankin come to the library as part of the special's schedule.  Students come as a class either once every week or once every other week. Fourth and Fifth come to the library during "B" Week.  The student generally check-out during this time but can do so at other times as well. 

OPEN CIRCULATION:  All Day-Every Day.  With both Ms. Stone and Ms. Virost working in the library, students can come in to check out anytime their teacher allows from 7:00am - 2:30pm! 

Parents are WELCOME!  If you want to help your child find the perfect book, you are welcome to come with them, explore the library and help create a love of reading. The best times to do this is from 7:00 - 7:20am or 2:00 - 2:30pm.  We would love to meet you. 

Check out is based on grade level for policy, however exceptions can always be made at the request of Parents or Teachers. 

• Kindergarten - before Winter Break
  • 1 Board Book - this is a teaching tool to help them learn how to treat a book properly and learn how to bring it back each week 
• 1st Grade - before Winter Break
  • 1 Early Reader book
• 2nd Grade - before Winter Break
  • 2 books
  • only one can be a graphic novel
• 3rd - 5th Grade - All year
  • 3 Books
  • 1 book must be non-fiction
  • Only 1 can be a graphic novel if they choose to get one
  • May get addition book if for project or Battle of the Books
